Life is Impermanent, Love is What Matters

Feb. 6, 2016

In light of the universe’s lack of care for our mortality, there is little else available to us as humans but to look upon our fellows with the utmost kindness, awe, and reverence. That life exists is the oddity, that it ends is the miracle, and that we suffer is the great unifier. No one is unfettered by the ropes of reality, or flies above the tides of joy and sorrow. All must eventually sink back into the vast sea from which they came. Not a single soul survives without the discomfort of yearning, the ache of loneliness, and the dread of watching things die.

No matter how rich our lives become, in the end we are penniless. So what else can we offer to the altar of humanity but the generous giving of love?
